James Doyle Case Memorial Scholarship
Guidelines

  1. Scholarships are for undergraduate degrees only.
  2. The amount of the Scholarship is one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per school year for a maximum of four years.
  3. Checks will be payable to the scholarship winner and the college or university he/she has selected.
  4. Scholarship winners must be either blind or visually impaired or be the child of a blind or visually impaired parent. Documentation fo visual impairment will be required with the application.
  5. Scholarship winners are selected according to the following guidelines:
    1. Highschool grade point average which must not be less that 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
    2. ACT score
    3. Extra curricular activities, band, track, other sports, other school activities;
    4. Community and/or church activities;
    5. Determination by committee of likelihood of success in college according to paperwork and/ or personal interview with student;
  6. A blind or visually impaired student will be given priority for the scholarship even though a sighted student may have higher grades, higher ACT scores, more school activities, and/or more community activities.
  7. One new scholarship will be awarded each year, with a total of four (4) scholarships per year.
  8. No more than one student in a family may receive a scholarship in the same year.
